Changes

We've been making some changes around the Bergeron household. We decided it was time to get the heck out of California. That place is going downhill in a hurry. The boys and I are temporarily staying with my mommy just outside of Carson City, Nevada in the little town of Dayton. I love it here! Especially in the fall. Have I mentioned that Fall is my favorite season? The smells, the colors, the food, the clothes, the food... Oh did I already say the food? My bad. Something I don't love? MOVING! Especially when I know I am gonna have to do it all again shortly. Between my mom and I we have 7 dogs. Yes I said 7. Plus 3 geese, about 10 ducks, 3 horses, 2 cats and about 50 piggeons who make their home with the ducks and geese. Its a good things mom lives on a couple acres or we might all loose our minds. So for now we are in transition. Wish us luck!

A Little Boy and His Ice Cream Cone

It has been a hot miserable couple weeks here in the desert. We live about 40 miles from Death Valley so we are used to the heat but the last couple weeks have been a special kind of sticky gross hot. We are lucky enough to have a pool but even that only offers a certain amount of relief. On Saturday after we got out of the pool I put Nixon out on the patio with his first very own ice cream cone. He was in heaven and the pictures are priceless.
Big Brother opted for an Otter Pop. We go through a lot of those.
Mmmm lets see what it tastes like if I smear it on the ground a little (yes I aloud this because i am that mom).
Oh ya that's some good stuff.
Cooper decided he needed an ice cream cone too.
Isn't he handsome?
Fish face!
Want some dad?
Even his little sticky fingers are cute. Happy summer! Nicole

Legos

Two of Cooper's most favorite things are Legos and dinosaurs. I recently discovered that Logos makes a line of dinosaur sets. To say that these are Cooper's favorite things on the planet would be putting it mildly. Since we have a 9 month old in the house Cooper has to be careful where he plays with his Legos so he spends a lot of time playing with them on our kitchen counter. On this particular day I was working on Fun-fetty cake pops (we'll talk more about those later) for my sister-in-law's birthday party. Here are a few pictures that I couldn't help but share. Isn't he such a handsome boy?
And a little taste of what I was doing while Cooper was catching dinosaurs. Papa Steve came to visit yesterday. Cooper got a new dinosaur Lego set with a Triceratops... More Lego fun to come! Nicole

New Girl

We recently decided to cut back on some things in our household. One of those things was our DirecTV. We didn't really watch all that much TV anyways. We replaced it with NetFlix and Hulu. So instead of watching HGTV while I am folding laundry I have been brousing thru the many options that NetFlix and Hulu offer. This morning I cam across a real gem. The New Girl (on Fox) staring Zooey Deschaneld is my new favorite show! It is so funny in a mildly raunchy way. If you havent checked it out you should!

My Bailey Girl

This is our sweet dog Bailey. She is a saint as far as I'm concerned and perfect for our family. Bailey is a pure bread Red Nose Pit Bull. She is sweet and gentle with our kids but still loves to rough house with the hubs. She goes almost everywhere with us. She loves bicycle rides, hiking, playing in the water and snuggling under our blankets at night. Pit Bulls get a very bad rap in our country. There are counties and cities where they are banned. They are blamed for the atrocities that are actually the fault of their owners who are supposed to love and care for them. Bailey is a perfect example of what a pit bull who is raised by loving owners who care for her and give her the attention that she deserves can and will be. I love this breed! They are an amazing addition to any family! Nicole

Fun For Nixon

Sometimes being the younger sibling you get left out of things, especially when your older sibling is playing with things like play dough and you insist on putting everything in your mouth. I decided it was time for Nixon to get in on some of the fun. This is a pretty easy project to do with a little one. I simply put a little food coloring in some yogurt, set him outside on a shower curtain and let him go to town. To say he enjoyed himself would be an understatement. I think the pictures speak for themselves.

VOLCANOES!!!!

I have been trying to keep Cooper busy around here with some fun "projects" as we have been calling them. One of Cooper's favorites so far has been VOLCANOES!!! I just love the way he says it so much! It is such a simple thing to do. Put some baking soda and a couple drops of food coloring in the bottom of a cup. Put some white vinager in a squeezy bottle and let kids do what they do. I will warn you now this is very messy and you will go thru a lot of vinager. A friend of mine who lives in an apartment did this with her daughter in the bathtub. She is such a smart cookie. I never would have thought of that.
